When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.

The art assignment "My Personal Space"
I took the assignment as free rien to draw a picture of inside my mind. So I created this with symbology of my past and my beliefs. The tree is nature and history and everything that holds my life together. I love the forest. If you look closely at the tree you will see an elemental theme. There is fire in the top right (summer, passion). There are leaves blowing away in the wind below that (autumn, moving on in life). In the bottom left there is icicles (spring, new beginings), and in the top left there are clumps of snow (winter, stillness and peace). The person standing below the tree is me. The 'ghost' image in front of me is because I believe there are many sides to everyones personalities. Everyone acts differently in different circumstances because of thier pasts, and everyone acts differently around different people. I have always loved the mountains of BC and they bring back a whole lot of memories to me .. good and bad. The cracks on the ice that I am standing on are the many dangers in the world, and the many wounds that everyone suffers. In the corners are pieces of rice paper riped up and paper mached to it. There are chains in the corners and on the tree in the middle. The chains are a number of things including everything from the chains that tie us down in this world and we break through, to the limits of our mind that we put upon ourself. |
